CORONAVIRUS HALTS ANOTHER EVENT – 2020 AUSSIE WINTERNATIONALS CANCELLED

The 2020 Gulf Western Oil Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway has been cancelled.

The biggest event on the Australian calendar was originally scheduled for June 3-7 but when Covid-19 struck was pushed forward until September 17-20.

However ongoing issues regarding the status of border closures between the states left the organizers no option but to cancel the event. Presently, the borders are closed between Victoria and Queensland.

Willowbank Raceway released a statement saying. “The board is very disappointed with having to make this decision, but in order to host the truly national event, all states should be represented and this is not achievable under the current circumstances.

"The board has determined that any competitor that has been entered in this year’s event, will be offered a transfer of their entry fee to next year’s event with no price increase applied for any competitors that accept this offer.”

The next schedule event on the 400 Thunder calendar is at Sydney Dragway November 5-8.
