A drag racing legend has passed away.

Dave McClelland, the recognized voice of drag racing for decades, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 9:30 am, of natural causes. His passing was announced this morning via social media by his family.

"He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing, which was quiet and peaceful," his family said in a prepared statement.

Services will be private, but a Celebration of Life is being planned.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Racers for Christ or the Drag Racing Association of Women (DRAW).
