Past NHRA Funny Car champion J.R. Todd was disqualified at the Menard's NHRA Nationals in Topeka, Kansas, following a first-round race against Alexis DeJoria when his Funny car failed a random tech inspection.

Sources indicated the DQ was because a header angle didn't fit a template established following the rule limiting header angles.

DeJoria was reinstated.

Team rep Elon Werner said, "The team has been disqualified following a post-race inspection, and there will be no further statements made."

NHRA did not levy any fines or penalties against the team as a result of the disqualification at this time.
