CAMRIE CARUSO TO RETURN TO TOP DRAGSTER COMPETITION AT BABY GATORS

Camrie Caruso’s 2023 NHRA season will begin this week in the Sportsman ranks.

Caruso, the reigning NHRA Rookie of the Year as a Pro Stock driver, will be competing in the Top Dragster class at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Southeast Division 2 event March 1-5 at Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway for the Baby Gators.

The event is one of 44 scheduled across the country where drivers earn points leading to divisional, regional, and national championships as well as a chance at a share of the year-end purse of more than $500,000.

Caruso has many years in the seat of a Top Dragster and is excited to be competing at the Baby Gators where she will be piloting Mike Scott’s beautiful carbon fiber Top Dragster.

“This is a great opportunity to get in front of the tree and get back to where I began. I’m really grateful for the opportunity,” said Caruso, a third-generation drag racer, in a press release. “I have been working with Mike for almost seven years now and for him to trust me with his Top Dragster means a lot. I have wanted to get back to Sportsman racing on the off weekends for a while, and now I have the chance.”

Scott was looking for a driver for his Top Dragster and it was a simple process for him to find one.

“With the obligation to debut the 1963 Corvette in Top Sportsman at the Baby Gators in preparation for the Gatornationals, I wanted to put a great driver behind the wheel of the Right Trailers’ Nationwide Top Dragster,” Scott said in a press release. “Camrie was the first and only driver that I thought of, and I’m confident that she will represent our team, and our brand, with her usual focus and professionalism after what will hopefully be a very successful weekend for the Right Trailers Motorsports team at the Baby Gators.”

The Right Trailers Motorsports team also includes drivers Rilee and Braxton Scott who will be competing in the Junior Dragster shootout throughout the exhibition run during the Gatornationals. With entries ranging from Junior Dragsters to Top Fuel Dragsters and everything in between, the Right Trailers Motorsports team will be signing autographs and meeting fans when they are not competing.

Caruso will be driving the Right Trailers’ Chevrolet Camaro at NHRA’s season-opening Gatornationals, March 9-12.

Back in December, Caruso joined KB Titan Racing. Heading into the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season. Caruso will be one of four drivers racing under the KB Titan Racing banner.

A year ago, Caruso finished 12th in the season points standings on the strength of a runner-up finish in Houston and nine round wins.
