DSR GEARING UP FOR THEIR BLOCK PARTY BENEFITTING RILEY CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION AT U.S. NATS

Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) has been a supporter of Riley Children’s Foundation since 2006, with over $820,000 raised for Riley Children’s Health, the leading pediatric hospital in Indiana. For more than a decade, DSR has hosted an Open House event alongside the NHRA U.S. Nationals race weekend. This annual gathering has served as a significant fundraiser for Riley Children’s, and as the highly anticipated 2023 'Big Go' approaches, DSR has announced a new race weekend kick-off event - the DSR Performance Block Party benefitting Riley Children’s Foundation.

The DSR Performance Block Party will commence on Friday, September 1, at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m., allowing ample time for racing enthusiasts to proceed to Indianapolis Raceway Park, merely three miles away, for the first round of qualifying for the NHRA U.S. Nationals, scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

Riley Children’s Foundation President and CEO, Liz Elkas, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support bestowed upon the cause by the Don Schumacher Racing organization.

"Thanks to their philanthropic gifts, we can direct funds to the most urgent needs of Riley Children’s Health and pediatric research. We are excited for their new event this year," Elkas said.

The DSR Performance Block Party promises an array of attractions, including a car show organized by the Indy Hi-Winders Car Club, featuring over 100 hot rods and custom cars. The event will award a first-place trophy crafted by Tom Pastis of Cold Hart Art to the owner of the 'best in show' entry. Attendees will also have the rare opportunity to witness Sandvik Coromant and DSM Precision Manufacturing machining demonstrations alongside a DSR Performance crate engine dyno demo. As a token of appreciation for donations, guests will be treated to an exclusive tour of the advanced DSM Precision Manufacturing machine shop.

In addition to vendor displays, the Block Party will showcase the show cars of Funny Car racer Bob Tasca and Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher. Schumacher will join a long list of NHRA Camping World Series drivers who will participate in a driver autograph session from noon to 12:30 p.m. The esteemed lineup includes Justin Ashley, Antron Brown, Ron Capps, Camrie Caruso, Jianna Evaristo, Josh Hart, Buddy Hull, Chris King, Mike Salinas, Angelle Sampey, J.R. Todd, and T.J. Zizzo, with more drivers expected to join in.

Food truck vendors will be on-site to cater to hungry race fans, while a silent auction will offer unique items, including a custom engine block coffee table, an autographed Matco Tools toolbox, firesuits, a U.S. Nationals VIP package, and a custom-designed piece from Cold Hard Art. Several NHRA teams have generously contributed memorabilia items for the auction, and mystery goodie bags will be available for purchase. For those unable to attend, the event's GiveSmart page will provide an opportunity to participate remotely. The auction will go live on Monday, August 28, and will close on Friday, September 1, at 1:30 p.m. ET. To preview and bid on items or make a donation, please visit dsrperformance.givesmart.com or text DSRPerformance to 76278.

All proceeds from the DSR Performance Block Party will be directed to the Riley Children’s Foundation, further bolstering their efforts to provide exceptional healthcare to children in need.
