NHRA'S FACTORY X TO HAVE 8-RACE SEASON IN 2024; HOLLEY NAMED SPONSOR

 

NHRA officials announced today that Holley EFI will be the title sponsor of the Factory X category for the upcoming NHRA season. Factory X is a category exclusively dedicated to 2019 and newer manufactured automobiles, featuring musclecar models such as the Chevrolet COPO Camaro, Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, and Ford Mustang Cobra Jet.
NHRA Holley EFI Factory X will participate in eight events throughout the 2024 campaign. The first race will take place at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals on April 12-14 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Having appeared at four events in 2023, NHRA Holley EFI Factory X, which combines supercharged Hemi, LS, or Coyote engines with manual transmissions and lightweight factory-appearing bodies, has captured the attention of drivers and race fans alike.

Jason Bruce, Vice President of Sales at Holley Performance Products, expressed excitement about their involvement and the class’s growing popularity.

The NHRA Holley EFI Factory X schedule begins in Las Vegas, followed by races in Charlotte, Chicago, Norwalk, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Dallas, and the finale back in Las Vegas.

This new class has already provided a home for former NHRA Pro Stock racers, most notably Allen Johnson, who became the first to break the 200-mph barrier at the St. Louis race. He was also the first into the six-second zone, albeit in a private test session.

Brad Gerber, NHRA Vice President, and Chief Development Officer, praised the partnership with Holley and expressed optimism about the future of NHRA Holley EFI Factory X.

Cars in NHRA Holley EFI Factory X have a minimum weight limit of 2,650 pounds, nearly 1,000 pounds lighter than a Factory Stock Showdown (FSS) car. Additionally, a manual transmission is mandatory, and each body must be OEM dimensional, with no alterations allowed.
