HART FAMILY – JOSH AND BRITTANIE COLLECTING DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE HELENE VICTIMS

When Hurricane Helene hit landfall on Sept. 26 it left massive damage in its wake

As of Friday afternoon Oct. 4, at least 223 people have died, and hundreds are unaccounted for in the destruction wrought by Hurricane Helene since it made landfall in Florida on Sept. 26.

The Hart family – star Top Fuel driver Josh Hart and his wife, Brittanie wanted to do their part to help those devastated by Helene. They took to social media seeking fellow members of the drag racing and auto enthusiast communities who wanted to help.

Burnyzz is collecting donations for Hurricane Helene relief from Oct. 3-23 (day of car show at Burnyzz). Bring a bag or small box of donations and get a Josh Hart Racing T-shirt (while supplies last)!
Donation drop off will be at Burnyzz Speed Shop Monday-Friday 9 am.-5 p.m. (ET). All items will be distributed by Burnyzz to impacted areas in Florida. The Speed Shop address is 1 Aspen Rd, Ocala, Fla., 34480.
Josh and Brittanie Hart are going to match the donations! Please read the list of accepted items below. Please share this post!
Non-perishable food: Canned goods, dried foods, etc.
Water: Clean drinking water and filters.
Baby supplies: Diapers, wipes, formula.
Hygiene products: Soap, toothpaste, feminine hygiene items.
Cleaning supplies: Bleach, disinfectants, gloves.
First-aid supplies: Bandages, antiseptics, medical gloves.

“We have our car show on Oct. 23 and we always pick a charity to donate the funds to,” Brittanie said. “We obviously picked because we plan this months in advance, but with the recent hurricane we wanted to try and do something to give back. So, what we are doing is from now until Oct. 23 anyone who brings in (donations) to those victims suffering from the devastation Josh and I will match it 100 percent and give them a free T-Shirt, a Josh Hart Racing T-Shirt.

“If people want to make a cash donation, I think we are going to set up a Venmo and we could mail them a shirt. We use the funds we get to buy supplies. I’m trying to direct people to bring stuff in. Josh and I are planning on taking an afternoon and hand deliver all the stuff. We are trying to do whatever we can do. There are so many people who have lost so much, and we know anything helps.”

On Oct. 23, the Burnyzz Trunk or Treat Car Show will take place from 6-9 p.m.

“Helene caused winds and got nasty for a few nights, and we didn’t have power for a few days and internet for a week and we are at home, and we got nothing like some people did,” Brittanie said. “We just want to help, and we have lived in Florida for a while and been through Hurricanes and it is amazing the devastation they can cause overnight.”
