The Texas-based siblings dreamed there would come a day they’d follow in the footsteps of their legendary drag racing father, Williard Buff.

Let the record reflect their day has officially arrived.

Troy is in his first-full season as driver of the Bill Miller Engineering Top Fuel dragster.

Kimmerly, whose husband is noted Pro Modified tuner and former driver Brandon Pesz, recently made her debut as the driver of Tom Conway’s A/Fuel Dragster.

They were in competition recently at the 54th annual NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

“We never dreamed about classes we'd race, we just thought we'd both race,” Kimmerly admitted. “Wayne Dupuy [noted nitro tuner] lived with us for a short period and we'd sit upstairs and we'd dream about the day we would all be racing, and we're all racing. So it's amazing we're all doing what we love to do.”

Troy qualified sixteenth in his Indy Top Fuel debut

“We are just living out our dreams,” Troy added.

Both agree the support has been mutual over the years of one another.

“When I was racing, she helped out on the car,” Troy said. “She was just incredible in her support. She’d go out and find the sponsorships for me to race. She worked very hard at doing that and never let up. When I got the opportunity to run Top Fuel, our car became available and then she worked out a deal with Tom Conway which is really good for her.”

Kimmerly drove her way to a quarter-final finish at Indy, losing to Bill Reicherts’ 5.2-second blast.

“I don't think we could do it without each other,” Kimmerly added. “I mean, we're a family. We're a family and my mom and dad raised us that way and we're brother and sister and nobody will come between us. That's just the way it is. We've been very supportive. I've supported my brother 100 percent in whatever he wants to do, I'm behind him.”

In this day of sibling rivalries there likely will never be one between Troy and Kimmerly because of two factors. The mutual admiration for one another and the likelihood that as talented as Troy is, he’ll remain in Top Fuel and Kimmerly has no desire to progress beyond Top Alcohol Dragster.

“I don't really have a desire to drive a Top Fuel car, and I hope he stays in a Top Fuel car for a long time,” Kimmerly said. “I'd like to be a world champion in alcohol and see Troy a champion in Top Fuel.”
