"He's doing great," Haddock said. "He's healthy and happy, and it's an amazing experience. Bambee and I have been so nervous after losing McKailee last year, but our boy is doing just fine.

Haddock was scheduled to compete at the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals this past weekend but had a quick change in plans heading to the event.

"I was driving to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the rig on Tuesday," Haddock said. "I got the phone call that Bambee was having contractions and the baby was probably on the way. We were in Amarillo but they didn't have anything from there that would get me home quickly. We jumped in the rig and drove to Albuquerque where they had a flight for me through Phoenix. I had to walk to the airport from I-25 because the rig was too big to go down the [airport road.]

"I flew to Phoenix, got on the plane to Seattle and thought 'finally.' Well about that time the pilot announces the plane won't start and we all had to get off and get on another one. I couldn't believe it. I finally got home at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

"McKailen didn't come until Monday. So we watched the drag race from the hospital. Now that McKailen is here and everything is fine, I have to get my act together for Pomona. My crew and I are going to do everything we can to be there. If we can get a little funding you should see us at the last race of the year."
