Scott Palmer suffered a crash behind the wheel of his Nitro-burning Studebaker at Mid-America Raceway in Missouri.

“Thought I should post an update… Scott is in good spirits… obviously very sore and beat up,” Chrystal Shiveley, Palmer’s spokesperson, wrote on her social media page. “They are waiting till possibly tomorrow to do surgery on his wrist… he’s very lucky to not be hurt any worse than what he is… looks like we will be in the hospital for a few more days. I can’t thank everyone enough for the text, phone calls, and prayers ?? … sorry I haven’t been able to respond to everyone, but I’m trying the best I can. ♥️ Figured this was the best way to update everyone.”

There are multiple accounts of the accident but nothing official, but Shiveley has confirmed Palmer was conscious and alert with a broken wrist, among other injuries.
