The CompetitionPlusStore.com is expanding its “legends network” with the addition of Pat Musi and Billy Meyer, two influential names in drag racing history. Musi, a former Pro Stock driver turned Pro Street champion and renowned Pro Nitrous engine builder, joins Meyer, a Funny Car icon and Texas Motorplex builder.
The online store plans to release new shirt designs soon featuring Rickie Smith’s 1983 Thunderbird and Warren Johnson’s silver Hurst/Olds. These additions build on a collection focused on preserving the sport’s historical icons.
Currently available are limited-edition shirts depicting Dale Pulde’s Warrior Buick and War Eagle Pontiac, along with Rickie Smith’s early Mountain Motor Pro Stock Mustangs. Vintage shirts from Warren Johnson and Scotty Cannon remain in limited supply.
Also featured are rare shirts of Don Prudhomme and Tom McEwen, including Prudhomme’s Plymouth Arrow and McEwen’s Corvette that won the 1978 NHRA U.S. Nationals. Quantities on all designs are limited, with no reprints planned once inventory sells out.
The store was created as an extension of CompetitionPlus.com, a well-known drag racing news outlet. It emphasizes paying royalties to legends for the use of their likenesses, according to the site.

All shirts are produced by Classic Graphix and are promoted as high-quality garments. “We like to wear them until they turn to dust,” reads a comment from the store’s product description.
“We started with a line of Scotty Cannon shirts, and those sold out incredibly quick,” said Emily Bennett, VP of merchandising for CompetitionPlus.com. “I can remember my dad telling me about this Dale Pulde shirt that he wore until it literally fell apart because he wore it so much. Now we have that same shirt in our inventory.”
“These shirts are important because they keep the heritage of the good old days alive and well for drag racing fans like my dad,” she added. “It’s our way of giving back to the legends who gave so much to the sport.”
The new Musi Shirts are available for pre-order at www.competitionplusstore.com.
