​The SEMA Action Network (SAN) praised U.S. Representative Patrick McHenry and his colleagues for reintroducing H.R. 350, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act of 2017 (RPM Act): The bipartisan bill, which was submitted for reintroduction on the first day of the new Congress, protects Americans’ right to modify street vehicles into dedicated racecars.

Jeff Jacobson knew his idea would defy logic from those who admire classic automobiles. The longtime Gasser fan, who had become infatuated with the Southeast Gassers while attending the Byron Dragway Meltdown Drags, decided when no one was willing to give him appropriate money for a '55 Ford Fairlane he found in his hometown of Boyd, Wisconsin, that he'd cut up the vintage Blue Oval and turn it into a Gasser.

The "Skairlane", a 427 SOHC Ford-powered, clutch assisted four-speed car, is a car he built with the sole purpose of having fun.
