WILL SMITH GETS ANOTHER SHOT AT INDY EXPERIENCE

Last year, Will Smith debuted in Top Fuel at the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals, and the experience was unforgettable for the Top Alcohol Dragster graduate. Smith will return with the same Larry Dixon-led team this year and this time with sponsorship from Mac Rak, a leading North American premier pallet rack repair company.

Smith has gained confidence as he heads into his second U.S. Nationals. From the get-go, Smith has shown advancement and consistency behind the wheel of the Top Fuel machine. Now, equipped with additional experience and countless runs in Dixon's dragster, as well as guidance from crew chief Tony Shortall, Smith eagerly awaits the biggest stop on the Camping World Drag Racing Series tour.

"When you have the right people, resources, and approach, good things happen," Smith said. "Not only do we have some of the finest professionals in the industry on this team, but they also possess integrity and an unwavering commitment to excellence. It's truly incredible to be part of this group. This team is the reason I have confidence every time I hit the track. We came close in Chicago, and now it's time to make it happen in Indy.

"Our goal is to consistently perform well, and we are ready to push the boundaries with our setup. It's going to be an incredible week."

While Top Fuel dragsters run on nitromethane and a sound tuneup, it's the sponsorships that bring it all together.

"Mac Rak has been a long-time supporter of my good friend Steve Johnson's Pro Stock Motorcycle Team," said team owner and multi-time champion Larry Dixon. "When they approached us to represent them at the Big Go, I couldn't be prouder. I can't wait to see Will put the pedal to the metal next week in our Mac Rak car and gauge our performance."

Mac Rak joins Smith's long-standing sponsors, including Tull Inc., TeaCo Geophysical, Donald Gwin with North River Salon and Wellness, as well as the esteemed Jim Halsey's Cecil Co Dragway and Yellow Bullet Nationals, showcased on Dixon's hot rod this weekend.

Smith expressed his admiration for Halsey, saying, "Jim is an exceptional person to have in your corner. I am honored to represent Cecil Co Dragway and the Yellow Bullet Nationals this weekend. We will bring our best to the table and represent all our sponsors with excellence."

With a year under his belt in the sport's fastest and quickest category, on Thursday evening of the U.S. Nationals, Smith will participate in the Cruz Pedregon Open House & Car Show. The event kicks off at 5:30 PM, followed by autograph signings at 7 PM.

"At our core, we are passionate racers," Smith said. "We live for the thrill of the race and believe in doing it the right way. Let's see what we can bring to the Big Go!"
