TASCA USES YES PROGRAM TO ADVANCE NEXT GENERATION INTO AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS

The late Bob Tasca spearheaded the dominance of Ford in drag racing in the 1960s and coined the phrase “win on Sunday, sell on Monday.”

His grandson, Bob Tasca III, is expanding on that mantra to be “teach on Friday, win on Sunday and hire on Monday.”

Tasca, 42, returned for full-time racing in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series this year with major financial support from the Ford Motor Company along with its Motorcraft and Quick Lane parts and service divisions.

PHARRIS ACQUIRES EKANOO RECORD-HOLDING LEXUS

On February 1, 2018, Radial vs. The World standout Daniel Pharris from Sikeston, Missouri made a game-changing move by acquiring the world known Ekanoo Racing Lexus RC-F, the quickest and fastest Super Street V8 in the Middle East.

This is one of the few cars ever purchased overseas by an American for the sole purpose of competitively racing in the states, making this an extremely unique acquisition, since it's usually the opposite scenario.  Since The Ekanoo Racing team debuted the car two years ago, it has qualified and won every race in the Super Street V8 class in the Bahrain Drag Racing Championships (BDRC).  Not only did the PTE boosted Super Street Lexus RC-F win back-to-back class championships, it also became the first small tire car in the Middle East to break the 3-second barrier.  Ekanoo Racing's best eighth-mile pass in the 2015 Lexus RC-F is an astonishing 3.92 at 202 MPH on twin GEN2 Pro Mod 94mm Precision Turbochargers.

The International Roll Racing Ass’n (IRRA), a sanctioning body for the sport of roll drag racing, will make its debut April 28 at Palm Beach Int’l Raceway in West Palm Beach, Florida.

DON LAMANA’S MISSION WAS TO SET THE NEW PRO 275 STANDARD

When Don Lamana departed his south-Florida home for South Georgia Motorsports Park almost a month ago he harbored no delusions of even qualifying for the elite Sweet 16 field, nevermind actually winning the $101,000 top prize. After all, the event was designed to showcase the absolute best of the best in Radial vs. the World (RvW), with educated predictions for the bump spot typically falling in the high-3.70s to low-3.80s.

Meanwhile, Lamana was showing up at SGMP with his twin-turboed ’89 Fox-body Mustang in full-legal Pro 275 trim, which meant carrying at least 200 pounds more than the RVW 2,750-pound minimum weight and hooking up with Mickey Thompson 275 drag radials instead of the wider RvW 315-series tires. For him, Sweet 16 represented a glorified test session.

There's a place for everybody in drag racing.

style of racing.

DON PRUDHOMME RETURNS TO BAJA COMPETITION AFTER 50 YEARS

Four-time NHRA Funny Car champion and drag racing legend Don “the Snake” Prudhomme is known for his performance in a nitro-burning Funny Car, but he also has a history with desert racing on the Baja peninsula.

In 1968, Prudhomme entered the Mexican 1000 Baja race in a Porsche-powered buggy built by racing innovator Tony Nancy and owned by actor Steve McQueen. Shortly before the race, McQueen had a movie conflict so Nancy reached out to Prudhomme to fill the seat as the co-driver. Prudhomme and Nancy had crossed paths through their successful drag racing careers. Now, 50 years later, with help from JEGS High Performance Mail Order, Prudhomme is returning to Baja competition in the 2018 Mexican 1000 – and he’s out for redemption.
