DIXON RACES TO FIRST CAREER AUSTRALIAN TOP FUEL VICTORY

After making a complete 360-turn and missing both guard walls in his Australian debut three years ago, Larry Dixon made a different kind of memory as he won the Top Fuel crown at the City of Ipswitch Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway.

Dixon drove his way to a flaming 4.915 elapsed time to defeat Wayne Newby in a battle of Santo Rapisarda-owned Top Fuel dragsters. The three-time NHRA champion won the event from the pole position after recording a 4.542 elapsed time in qualifying at 329.26 miles per hour.

KRAWIEC CONTINUES HOT STREAK, NABS TOP SPOT IN PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE

Home is where the Wally is.

For Eddie Krawiec, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park is much more than just another racetrack. As a former track manager for the historic facility located in Englishtown, N.J., Raceway Park is the place where Krawiec first fell in love with motorcycle racing.

LINE TOPS PRO STOCK FIELD FOR FIFTH TIME AT ENGLISHTOWN

Right now, it’s good being Jason Line.

Five wins, eight finals, five top qualifier awards, and a nearly insurmountable championship lead 10 races into a 24-event marathon, there really isn’t much you can find to be disappointed about nearly halfway into the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

ROUND BY ROUND RESULTS FROM AUSTRALIAN WINTERNATIONALS

SMITH POWERS TO FIRST ROUND PRO MOD VICTORY AT ENGLISHTOWN

Rickie  Smith powered to a first round victory Saturday at the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. This weekend’s Pro Mod racing is the fourth of 10 Pro Mod events on the 2016 season.

Smith, the No. 2 qualifier, raced his IDG 2015 Chevy Camaro to a 7.904 second pass at 118.70 mph to defeat Gerry Capano in his Split Racing ’63 Corvette. Smith, who has raced to two victories in the first three races of the season, will go up against defending world champion Troy Coughlin in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Coughlin outlasted Mike Janis in the first round.

TORRENCE, CAPPS, LINE AND KRAWIEC EARN NO. 1 QUALIFYING POSITIONS AT SUMMERNATIONALS

Steve Torrence claimed his fifth No. 1 qualifier of the season in Top Fuel on Saturday at the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.

Ron Capps (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock), and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) will also lead their respective categories into eliminations at the 10th race of the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

CAPPS QUICKEST IN BOTH FUNNY CAR SESSIONS FRIDAY AT ENGLISHTOWN

Hot or cold. Night or day. Sunshine or cloudy. Ron Capps, Rahn Tobler and the entire NAPA Auto Parts Funny Car team have proven, time and time again, that they know how to get down a racetrack no matter the conditions.

Coming off a clean sweep at the NHRA national event in Epping, N.H. one week ago amid varying weather conditions, Capps continued his hot streak on Friday a few hours south with the two quickest passes of the day to take the provisional top spot at the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park as the veteran looks for his third top qualifier award of the season and second straight.
