CAPPS TO APPEAR AT GOODGUYS WEST COAST NATIONALS SATURDAY FOR NAPA

Ron Capps, driver of the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car in
the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, will be on hand at the 22nd
Goodguys West Coast Nationals this weekend at the Alameda County
Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Calif., making an appearance on Saturday,
Aug. 23, to sign autographs throughout the day in the NAPA AUTO PARTS
booth.

Currently No. 8 in the NHRA Funny Car standings, having clinched a
berth in the Countdown to 1 playoffs, which begin following the U.S.
Nationals in Indianapolis on Labor Day weekend, Capps is looking
forward to returning to his home area this weekend. “It’s going to be
fun coming to Goodguys in Pleasanton,” he said. “I grew up in the Bay
Area and I love coming to this event. For hot-rodders it’s like their
U.S. Nationals or Super Bowl. And I’m a big hot-rod fan. I love driving
my Brizio-built Hot Rod coupe whenever I get a chance.”

FRIDAY TULSA QUALIFYING

Terry McMillen Sizzles at Sooner Nationals

Claims provisional pole with 4.692 at 308.99 mph; Matt Hagan (Nitro
Funny Car, Jim Halsey (Pro Modified), Dale Brand (Alcohol Funny Car)
and Cary Goforth (Pro Stock) also lead provisional qualifying at Tulsa
Raceway Park

the Mopar Canadian Nationals in Grand Bend, Top Fuel driver Terry
McMillen, an Elkhart, Ind. resident,  made an addition to his crew. He
brought veteran tuner Doug Kuch into the Hoosier Thunder Motorsports
fold, a move that has made all the difference.

McMillen captured the Ironman in Grand Bend, moving from on the fringe
of the Top Fuel championship points chase directly into the middle of
it. He followed that up with a final-round showing at the Torco
Northern Nationals three weeks ago, where Spencer Massey ended his
quest for a second straight national event victory. Though he fell
short in the final round, McMillen did move to within 140 points of
front-running Massey in the 2008 points chase.

THIRD KB/SUMMIT PRO STOCKER IN INDY

The Ken Black Pro Stock team sponsored
by Summit Racing Equipment will field a third car during at the least
the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. This car is designed to be a
team research and development entity and will be supported by the
Wilson Manifolds team and driven by IHRA Pro Stock standout Rob
Mansfield.

The third Pontiac Pro Stocker will carry the Summit Racing Equipment
livery. The car will be campaigned by KB’s induction specialists Wilson
Manifolds of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with who they've enjoyed an exclusive arrangement since the team’s inception.

This weekend during the IHRA Sooner Nationals in Tulsa, Ok. he debuts
his newly decorated Lend America Chevy Monte Carlo as he attempts to
hold on to his dream of winning the world championship.

"Having Lend America come on board right now has given us all a great
boost," Haddock explained. "Mike Ashley [Lend America VP and Chief
Business Strategist] knows how important focus is when you're trying to
win a championship, and with his sponsorship and the support of others
like Dean's Casing Service who is stepping up for this Tulsa race, we
can rest assured that we won't have little things like blower belts and
couplings nagging at us.”

CARPENTER'S FIRST PRIORITY IS DEFENDING NORWALK TITLE

At this time last year, Charles Carpenter was hoisting his second Iron Eagle trophy of the season after winning the Flowmaster carpenterDSA_1667.JPGAmerican Drag Racing League’s inaugural event at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH.

This year, he is looking to defend that championship and grab his first
win of 2008 at the 2nd annual Ohio Drags. After appearing in the final
round of the last three races he has entered, including the last two
ADRL events, Carpenter would like nothing more than to break through
for that first win of the season in Norwalk.

HAGAN DEBUTS TOYOTA THIS WEEKEND IN IHRA COMPETITION

Matt Hagan's first season behind the wheel of a Knoll Gas Motorsports Nitro Jam series Nitro Funny Car has been punctuated hagan.JPGwith
the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. After a meteoric rise to
the top of the field in the beginning of the year by winning events at
Rockingham and Edmonton, Hagan has struggled in recent events and even
failed to qualify for the Northern Nationals earlier this month.

FOLEY EXTENDS NHRA SCHEDULE TO INCLUDE CHARLOTTE

Top Fuel driver Doug Foley has confirmed his reservation for Foley
& Lewis Racing to compete at the "Bellagio of Drag Strips," the
nickname given to brand-new zMax Dragway, for the upcoming inaugural
Carolina NHRA Nationals, which run Sept. 11-14. Foley will race with
the support of Senecal Construction of Alamance, N.C., a commercial
drywall contractor near
Greensboro.

"It's really exciting to have the chance to race at zMax Dragway at the
first race ever held there," Foley said. "I saw the place in person
during a family vacation earlier this summer and it looks every bit as
good as everyone says it's going to be. I can't wait to see the
finished product and to race our Senecal Construction dragster down the
track.

"Ron Senecal stepped up big for us so we could make this event and
we're going to do our best to bring some attention to his drywall
business."
