ENDERS SISTERS CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF THEIR MOVIE 'RIGHT ON TRACK'

 

It was two decades ago this week that Erica Enders and her sister Courtney became drag racing movie stars.

The Disney Channel released an original movie, Right On Track, based on the lives of the drag racing siblings.

Right On Track premiered on March 21, 2003, and starred two young actresses who’ve gone on to have standout careers in show business. Beverly Mitchell (7th Heaven, Candy Cane Christmas) played Erica and Academy Award winner Brie Larson (Room, Captain Marvel) played Courtney.

PAUL WOODY JOINS JFR AS CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

 

In its continued effort to grow partnerships and strengthen business-to-business relationships, John Force Racing announced that they have hired Paul Woody as its Chief Revenue Officer. In his new role, Woody will be responsible for creating new and enhancing current partnerships as well as developing and executing successful activation.

M&M TRANSMISSIONS NAMED NEW SPONSOR OF PDRA'S PRO 632 CLASS

 
M&M Transmission, owned by Pro Mod driver and radial standout Mark Micke, will serve as the new class sponsor for the Professional Drag Racers Association’s (PDRA) Pro 632 class, series officials announced ahead of the series’ 10th season.
 
Pro 632 features big-tire doorslammers running either naturally aspirated or nitrous oxide-aided combinations.  
 
“Mark, Damon, Troy, and the entire M&M Transmission team have been long-time supporters of not only the PDRA series, but also the racers in the parking lot,” said PDRA Race Director Tyler Crossnoe. “From on-location service and emergency repair to championship-winning products, M&M Transmission continues a winning résumé with the PDRA with the new increased support level by title sponsoring Pro 632 this season.” 

VETERAN PSM RIDER CHIP ELLIS CHECKS 200 MPH OFF HIS BUCKET LIST

 

Chip Ellis has accomplished plenty in his lengthy NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle career. 

Ellis has won seven career NHRA national events, and he has become a steady rent-a-rider since 2018, driving for the teams of Vance & Hines, Matt Smith Racing and Ryan Oehler. 

Ellis competed at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla., March 10-12 for MSR and checked another item off his Pro Stock Motorcycle bucket list – eclipsing 200 mph.

Ellis accomplished the feat with a 6.790-second elapsed time at 200.02 mph during the third qualifying session on March 11.

CUADRA BOYS RACING LANDS NEW MAJOR ASSOCIATE SPONSOR

 

There's business-to-business programs and then there's what the Cuadra Boys team has pulled off headed into this weekend's NHRA Arizona Nationals outside of Phoenix.

The Cuadra Family, who owns the ultra-successful Corral Boots brand, have signed Columbia Impex as a major associate sponsor for the rest of the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season. Columbia Impex is a supplier of genuine reptile and exotic leathers. 

NMCA REDLINE OIL SERIES KICKS OFF A NEW SEASON

 

With hard launches, huge wheelies, and head-to-head racing, competitors settled right into the new home of the Scoggin Dickey Parts Center NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem presented by Holbrook Racing Engines, March 17-19, 2023 at Orlando Speed World Dragway in Florida.

They thrilled at every turn as they took aim at the NMCA Winner's Circle at this first of six events on this year's Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals tour, and along the way, they confirmed their commitment and courage.

"We saw some amazing racing at our highly anticipated NMCA season opener at Orlando Speed World Dragway," said Rollie Miller, NMCA General Manager and National Event Director. "On the well-prepped national stage, racers showed us what we can expect to see on this year's chase to the championships, and we are in for a wild ride."

CHAD GREEN THRILLED WITH HIS TEAM’S START TO 2023 SEASON

 

Battling NHRA’s big budget nitro Funny Car teams is quite the challenge.

However, it is one nitro Funny Car team owner/driver Chad Green welcomes.

Green was clearly up to the challenge at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla., last Sunday notching a semifinal finish.

ALEX LAUGHLIN AND JIM DUNN RACING TO CAMPAIGN SPECIAL EDITION USD FUNNY CAR IN PHOENIX

 

The chemistry and performance for the first NHRA national event of the season with new Funny Car driver Alex Laughlin and Jim Dunn Racing was a success. The team qualified well, ran in the 3.90’s at 320mph in the opening round, and gave their competition a good run for it. The team and driver will look to build on that success and participate in the celebration of the last NHRA national event at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park with a Special Edition Funny Car and limited-edition driver signed hero card.

NHRA DOCKS SALINAS 20 POINTS FOR RULES INFRACTION FOLLOWING GAINESVILLE WIN

 

 

NHRA issued a statement on March 16, 2023, declaring Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals Top Fuel champion Mike Salinas committed a rules infraction and, while he'd been declared the winner, was docked 20 points. 

The infraction, which isn't clearly defined on nhraracer.com, was described by NHRA's Jeffrey Young in a statement for CompetitionPlus.com. 

"The NHRA tech department made a mathematical error in weighing the car," Young said.
