Valvoline at the 38th annual ACDelco Gatornationals at Gainesville
(Fla.) Raceway. Valvoline will remain as an associate sponsor for David Powers
Motorsports on Fuller’s rail and the Matco Tools dragster of Whit Bazemore.

“We’re very appreciative of Valvoline stepping up to the
plate to remain as Rod Fuller’s primary sponsor at the Gainesville race,” team
owner Powers said. “This helps as we continue to hunt for a primary backer.
Valvoline and Rod Fuller are synonymous, and Valvoline will continue to play a
vital role in the success of our team this season.”

The beginning of the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing season has been a
frustrating one for legendary Lucas Oil Funny Car crew chief and car owner 'Big'
Jim Dunn and his championship caliber driver, Tony Bartone.

The pair just missed qualifying for the quickest Funny Car field in
history at the season opener in
Pomona when their 4.816 elapsed time
fell just short of the outrageous 4.79 bump spot. At the next race in
Phoenix, Bartone ran 323-mph but
missed the show by one spot when he qualified 17th. But despite their
early set backs, the Lucas Oil team is primed and ready to rebound at the
Gatornationals, the first race of the season on the East coast.

Allen Britt of Rowland and Mark Arthur of Sandy Level, Va., both won $5,000
during the first TORCO Carolina Coalition Series of the season at Rockingham
Dragway. The total two-day purse exceeded $30,000.

Britt, driving the Raven Rock Racing's Chevy Beretta,
won Saturday's program defeating Bobby Hardee of Mullins, S.C.,
driving a Chevy Nova.  Britt won with an elasped time of 5.551 seconds at 108.52
m.p.h. on a dial-in of 5.42.  Hardee ran too quick under his 6.60 dial-in by six
one-thousands of a second with a 6.594 time at 104.27 m.p.h.

Dave Densmore, veteran journalist and public relations guru for John Force Racing, is resting comfortably following heart bypass surgery performed late last week. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Dave. We’re looking forward to seeing him back at the track real soon!

NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series driver Ron Capps took advantage of an
off-week for that series to join the Nostalgia Funny Car "Five-Second
Club" during qualifying for Sunday's eliminations at the 49th
anniversary of the Bakersfield March Meet at Auto Club Famoso Raceway.

Out·law (out lô ) - A person who refuses to be governed by the established rules or practices of any group.

Jesse James was one. Willie Nelson still is. And Alan Pittman will soon
be joining this infamous fraternity of nonconformists known
collectively as outlaws. The racer and chassis builder from South
Carolina won’t be robbing banks or belting out country songs, but he
will be flaunting the established rules of Pro Modified competition
when he joins the battle for Pro Extreme supremacy in American Drag
Racing League (ADRL) action.

Bill Windham is tantalizingly close to competing in his first NHRA Pro Stock event. 
 
The newly-licensed Pro Stock driver is attempting to complete the
paperwork following his licensing runs at Roy Hill’s Driving School at
Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas.  If NHRA officials grant
approval, Windham hopes to make his first professional appearance at
the ACDelco Gatornationals, March 16-18, at Gainesville, Fla.

The Drag Racing Association
of Women, (D.R.A.W.), will host their annual Florida golf tournament on
Wednesday, March 14, 2007 prior to the NHRA AC Delco Gatornationals.  The tournament will take place at Ironwood
Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida with a tee time of 1:00 p.m. and lunch
served at 12:00 p.m.
