Ryan Peery has found something at Rockingham Dragway that definitely suits his Milford, Ohio-based motorcycle.
Peery was the No. 1 qualifier Saturday and laid down the quickest elapsed time in every round of eliminations Sunday to capture the AHDRA’s Nitro Summer Nationals. It was his second AHDRA victory of the season, as he took Top Fuel honors Atlanta Dragway on April 18.
Peery put his bike on the pole Saturday at 6.394 seconds, then ran an event-best 6.365 at 218 mph in the Sunday’s noon opening round of eliminations. He was the only Top Fuel rider to crack the 6.6-second barrier during the weekend to dominate the action. Peery was the runner-up in last year’s event to Jay Turner after having qualified No. 1.

Due to the current and upcoming inclement weather forecasted for the area, Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series (MWDRS) officials have postponed this weekend’s scheduled Texas Tango Nationals at Houston Raceway Park.
The event is now scheduled to take place June 18-19 at HRP, marking the series’ debut event at the famed track.

No one can accuse John Hale of not seeking adventure.
Hale ran his own Nostalgia Funny Car team and he drove a nitro Funny Car for Jim Dunn Racing in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Now, Hale is a pilot competing in competition aerobatics events sanctioned by the International Aerobatic Club (IAC), which is a division of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the National Aeronautics Association (NAA). It promotes aerobatics and governs the sport of competition aerobatics in the United States under the regulations of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).

Veteran fuel racer Tim Wilkerson has a plan. And this plan involves him, but not in the way one might think.
Wilkerson, a decorated driver in the Funny Car ranks, has purchased a Top Fuel dragster. No, he doesn't plan to drive the rail but figures he will make the machine available for those who do want to.
"We're just trying to get some people some licenses and stuff," Wilkerson confirmed.
Maybe the dragster doesn't produce enough clutch dust messiness for his liking. Maybe not.

As a 330-mile-per-hour nitro Funny Car pilot on the weekend, and cattle and hemp rancher during the week, it’s safe to say Don Schumacher Racing’s Matt Hagan is certainly deserved of the ‘world’s fastest farmer’ moniker. The reigning three-time world champion has enjoyed a successful NHRA drag racing and farming career for more than a decade and his two ‘day jobs’ often intertwine. For the last eight years, Hagan has relied on New Holland’s agricultural products on his Christiansburg, Va. property, and will now benefit from New Holland’s support on the race track, as he welcomes the global agricultural machinery brand to his Funny Car team as an associate partner.
“New Holland has been a crucial partner for me on my farm,” said Hagan, a multi-hyphenate who launched Hagan Cattle Company, a farm-to-table beef delivery service, to his portfolio of businesses which also includes TruHarvest, a burgeoning CBD company, and a successful cattle sales business. “Over the past four years I’ve transitioned most all of my machinery to New Holland equipment, and I’m excited to now be able to represent their brand on the side of our race car. I know many of our fans are farmers themselves, especially in many of the mid-Western states that we visit on the NHRA tour. Chris Wheatcraft wheeled his beautiful Mopar-powered Neon to the Verge Motorsports 4.70 Quick Outlaws win at Ohio’s Kil-Kare Dragway, but it was anything but easy for the veteran. During the first three rounds, he overcame subpar reaction times by doing a masterful job at the finish line to advance. The next three rounds saw him improve significantly, including a stellar .0173 in the final against red-lighting Jeremy Jensen in his 1963 Chevrolet Corvette. Both competitors ran it out, 4.714 to 4.708 respectively.
