Drag Illustrated [DI] and Bradenton Motorsports Park announced Tuesday the dates for the second annual Winter Series. The three-race Pro Modified series will return to Florida’s Gulf Coast with events scheduled Dec. 5-7, Jan. 23-25, and Feb. 26-28.

The series features the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, U.S. Street Nationals, and the World Series of Pro Mod, with more than $300,000 in Pro Mod purses. Officials called the series “the premier offseason championship in professional drag racing.”

“It’s just about that time of year again, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the drag racing world back together at Bradenton Motorsports Park for the second-annual running of the Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service,” said Wes Buck. “What we’re building in Florida is unlike anything else that exists in the sport today, and the support we’ve received from racers, fans and sponsors is what’s made it possible. Our goal was to reset the standard in year one, provide proof of concept, and now we’re pouring fuel on the fire. We crowned Ken Quartuccio as our first champion back in March and I literally can’t wait to bring all the baddest drag racers on the planet back to Bradenton to make more memories starting at the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals.”

“The most exciting part of all this is that we’re truly just getting started,” Buck said.

The series will again use invitation-only 32-car Pro Mod fields, contested on an outlaw eighth-mile with rules designed to create close competition. Random chip draws, high-level production and large payouts are key features of the format.

“We’re all about putting on a show and giving fans something to remember,” said Victor Alvarez, owner of Bradenton Motorsports Park. “Last year was next-level, but we’re not slowing down. We’re making major improvements here at BMP – new infrastructure, upgraded amenities, and more room to move – and we can’t wait to show it all off when the circus rolls back into town.”

“There’s nothing like hosting the baddest racers in the world right here at our house,” Alvarez added. “The energy, the people, the racing – it’s a vibe. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there’s no better place to be in the winter than Bradenton Motorsports Park.”

The Snowbird Outlaw Nationals will mark its 54th running this year.
