Shawn Langdon needed 3.940 seconds to beat Justin Ashley in the NHRA Virginia Nationals Top Fuel final round. The NHRA, however, needs a little longer to certify it.

About ten hours after the post-race celebration and press conference were completed, NHRA is still deliberating whether Langdon’s win was a win. The details are scarce except for a cryptic message on NHRA.com citing, “The results are under review for a possible rules infraction on Langdon’s car. The final-round result is under review.”

CompetitionPlus.com has reached out to NHRA, which has been promising a statement since Sunday evening, as well as both teams, who declined to comment because they have no facts to share other than that NHRA is reviewing the final round.

As soon as NHRA releases a statement or decision, we will pass it on. Currently, there appears to be a gag order on what is happening.
