Former drag racing sponsor Evan Knoll, who owned and operated Torco Racing Fuels, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for eight counts of making a false claim to the government and one count of bank fraud. This was revealed today in a report by www.wwmt.com.

Knoll also faces five years of probation following his release and must pay restitution to the government totalling $83 Million dollars.

Knoll pled guilty to the charges on July 26.

Torco Race Fuels was the title sponsor for CompetitionPlus.com from December 2004 until June 2008. Knoll’s sponsorship entities included the three major sanctioning bodies including the NHRA, IHRA and ADRL. He also served as the major sponsor for a number of professional and sportsman race teams.
