Lead Foot City has officially joined the NHRA Member Track Network in Southeast Division 2. The all-purpose facility in Brooksville will host a grand opening festival this weekend.
Dubbed America’s Automotive Theme Park, Lead Foot City features an 1/8-mile dragstrip, a drift and autocross pad, and a burnout pit, among other amenities. The facility prioritizes safety, aligning with NHRA’s mission to promote safe drag racing nationwide.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the NHRA, having a unified vision of safety in motorsports,” said Achilles Thomas, Mayor of Lead Foot City. “Being a facility focused on the NHRA Street Legal program helps bring NHRA back to its roots, giving racers a safe place to race without taking the fun out of it.”
As one of over 100 NHRA Member Tracks, Lead Foot City will provide local racers with various NHRA racing opportunities. Following the grand opening, the track will host a range of events throughout the 2025 season, including drag races, concerts, and car shows.
Lead Foot City’s commitment to safety complements NHRA’s long-standing efforts to combat illegal street racing. Since its inception in 1951, NHRA has established Street Legal events at member tracks to create safe racing environments.
“Bringing a track like Lead Foot City into the NHRA family is vital in today’s age of drag racing,” NHRA Division 2 Director Cody Savage said. “I can’t wait to see what they accomplish with our Street Legal and Speed for All programs.”
