The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) issued a statement confirming they have acquired seven drag racing facilities, a strategic move aimed at expanding the sport. This acquisition reinforces IHRA’s commitment to providing world-class racing experiences.
Darryl Cuttell, IHRA owner, confirmed the agreement in principle, marking the first phase of a plan to establish IHRA as a leader in sports and entertainment. The newly acquired tracks include National Trail Raceway and Dragway 42 in Ohio, Maryland International Raceway, Milan Dragway in Michigan, Darlington Dragway in South Carolina, Galot Motorsports Park in North Carolina, and Kil-Kare Raceway in Ohio.
“I am proud to announce that the International Hot Rod Association is purchasing seven legendary racing facilities as of today,” Cuttell said. “This is just the beginning of growing IHRA into a global leader in sports and entertainment.”
In addition to the track acquisitions, IHRA is expanding its event portfolio and partnerships. “The IHRA has also agreed in principle to purchasing, hosting, and partnering with some of the most successful and popular racing series in the entire world,” Cuttell stated. “These events will combine music, entertainment, and All-American family fun!”
To enhance the fan experience, IHRA is launching IHRA TV, a digital platform that will showcase a variety of motorsports action globally. “The International Hot Rod Association will also launch IHRA TV, which will not only bring more live drag racing content to the fans but also feature a diverse lineup of racing series on snow, water, dirt—anywhere you find horsepower and competition,” Cuttell added.
With these significant developments, IHRA aims to revolutionize motorsports by integrating competition, entertainment, and media innovation. “We look forward to revolutionizing racing and the continued growth of a legendary company,” Cuttell said. “As we head into the future, we are committed to making drag racing fun again!”
