Randy Meyer Racing will bring attention to the Slow Down Move Over (SDMO) initiative on March 4 during a press conference at the Florida State Capitol at 2 p.m. The event, held in partnership with the Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA) and the INA Towing Network, will feature representatives from the racing team alongside two SDMO-branded race cars that will compete in the NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway from March 6-9.
“This will be a great event to highlight the urgent need to spread the word to drivers across Florida and around the country that they need to Slow Down and Move Over on our highways and streets,” said Megan Meyer, a two-time world champion and SDMO ambassador. Florida State Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez, the legislative sponsor of the press conference, will also address the attendees.
To emphasize the SDMO campaign, Randy Meyer Racing will showcase two uniquely designed race cars, including Matt Cummings’ Injected Nitro Dragster and world champion Julie Nataas’ Injected Nitro Funny Car, both featuring vibrant ‘Slow Down Move Over’ liveries.
The press event aims to promote Florida’s “Move Over” Law (Statute 316.126) and raise awareness of this critical safety initiative. Randy Meyer Racing is collaborating with Florida representatives, senators, and the Governor’s Office to support this national awareness campaign, which seeks to save lives and reduce injuries and property damage on roadways across Florida and the nation.
During the event, Meyer, along with representatives from the Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Highway Safety Office, Tallahassee Police Department, Tallahassee Fire Department, TRAA, and several tow operators, will discuss the importance of the Slow Down Move Over initiative. The event will take place at the Florida State Capitol, located at 400 S Monroe St, Tallahassee, FL 32399.
