Suspension tuning can be the difference between a car that merely leaves the starting line and one that does it consistently. Strange Engineering is targeting that need with its Front Coil-Over Shock Series, offering adjustable suspension packages for a broad range of GM A-Body and G-Body applications.

The coil-over systems are designed for popular platforms including the Buick Grand National and Regal, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Malibu and El Camino, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Pontiac Grand Prix, and other GM models. The shocks are intended for everything from dedicated drag racing combinations to street/strip builds and performance handling applications.

At the center of the lineup is the S5065 Double Adjustable Front Coil-Over Shock, which gives racers independent control of both extension and compression damping. Each circuit features 10 adjustment positions, allowing changes for different track conditions or street driving preferences.

For drag racers, softer extension settings can promote greater front-end rise to improve weight transfer, while firmer compression settings help control chassis movement and improve rear tire loading during launch. Drivers focused on street performance or cornering can increase both extension and compression damping to reduce body roll and sharpen handling response.

The S5065 features a lightweight aluminum body, externally accessible adjustment knobs, adjustable ride height, rebuildable and revalveable construction, and lower spherical bearings designed to provide smooth suspension travel. Strange also offers custom valving for applications with specialized tuning requirements.

Each coil-over package includes lower spring seats, jam nuts, upper studs with rubber cushions, concave washers, lock nuts, spherical bearings, and the necessary mounting hardware for installation. Strange recommends a 10-inch by 350-pound conical spring, while additional spring rates are available to accommodate different vehicle weights and performance goals.

For enthusiasts looking for a more economical option, Strange also offers the S5265 Single Adjustable Front Coil-Over Shock. The unit provides 10 extension adjustment settings while retaining the lightweight construction, ride height adjustability, and rebuildable design found in the double-adjustable version.

With both single- and double-adjustable options, Strange Engineering continues to offer suspension components aimed at racers and performance enthusiasts seeking greater consistency, improved chassis control, and the flexibility to tailor suspension performance for changing conditions.
