The Southeast Gassers Association will kick off its season at the 2025 Spring Nationals presented by Harbin’s Mechanical this weekend at South Georgia Motorsports Park. This marks the largest venue in SEGA history for a points-earning event on March 21-22.
Raul Torres, owner of South Georgia Motorsports Park, expressed optimism for the event. “If I were to predict… I think it’s going to be a big hit,” he said, noting the considerable buzz generated by SEGA.
SEGA is recognized as the premier gasser organization in modern drag racing, emphasizing heads-up competition. Leslie Horne, SEGA owner and reigning A/Gas champion, stated, “I’m looking for big things,” regarding the season opener at this premier facility.
With South Georgia Motorsports Park known for record performances, there is potential for SEGA records to be broken. Horne, the current A/Gas record holder with a time of 5.18 seconds, remarked, “I think we’ll tickle the 5.0s this year if not even the first race.”

Greg Stelse, driver of The Joker in A/Gas, echoed Horne’s sentiments on the Competition Plus Power Hour, saying, “I think the record will get beat multiple times.” SEGA competitors are eager to showcase their skills at SGMP.
Categories in competition include A/Gas, B/Gas, C/Gas, H/Gas, A/FX, and Super Stock, welcoming over 70 cars for the Spring Nationals. The schedule features testing on Friday evening and qualifying into eliminations on Saturday, alongside a two-day swap meet.
On-track action begins Friday at 5 p.m. Eastern with testing and grudge racing, while SEGA Spring Nationals competition starts Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern.
