Himes was a resident of Westfield, Ind. for the past 18 years and along with his wife Dianne took over operations of Muncie Dragway near Albany, Ind. prior to the 2008 season.

A lifelong entrepreneur in the automotive industry, he began working in his family business, Automazing, located in Noblesville for six years before the family business Moe Himes Firestone, relocated to Fishers in 1991. Himes was a respected performance engine-builder.

Himes was a resident of Westfield, Ind. for the past 18 years and along with his wife Dianne took over operations of Muncie Dragway near Albany, Ind. prior to the 2008 season.

A lifelong entrepreneur in the automotive industry, he began working in his family business, Automazing, located in Noblesville for six years before the family business Moe Himes Firestone, relocated to Fishers in 1991. Himes was a respected performance engine-builder.

Himes is survived by his wife of 22 years; his son, Jonathon, 21; and a daughter Katelyn, 19, all of Westfield. He is also survived by his parents, of Carmel; a brother, Stacy Himes of McCordsville; and a sister, Kimberly (Himes) Viehe, of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel. A viewing will be hosted Friday from 7- 9:p.m. at Castleview Baptist Church, 8601 N. Hague Road, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Castleview. Burial will immediately follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Ind. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
