While the 18th running of the COMP Cams Street Car Super Nationals presented by FuelTech and Summit Racing Equipment was still going at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was big news when next year’s date was announced.
For years, racers and fans have kicked off their holiday season by coming to Sin City the weekend prior to Thanksgiving to be a part of drag racing’s biggest bucket list event. Next year, SCSN moves up a month to Oct. 18-22, 2023.
The event now leads into the NHRA Camping World Series race at The Strip, scheduled for the following weekend.
“Everything about this is a positive,” said event promoter Mel Roth. “Better weather, higher car count, and a ton of stuff going on. With NHRA at the track the next weekend and SEMA right after, next October in Las Vegas is going to be mandatory for drag racers all over the country.
“We can’t thank (Director of Racing Operations) Jeff Foster enough,” Roth continued. “He’s been incredible to work with over the years and has the patience of a saint! We wouldn’t be able to do what we do here without Jeff.”
More information regarding Street Car Super Nationals 19 will be released in the coming weeks.
