NHRA officials have appointed Evan Jonat as Senior Vice President of National Events, effective immediately. Jonat has served as Vice President of Live Events since 2018 and has been with NHRA since 2007.
Based in San Dimas, California, Jonat has significantly contributed to creating a unique experience at NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series events. He will continue to lead the live event and marketing team to coordinate promotional, entertainment, and educational aspects of NHRA national events.
In his new role, Jonat will collaborate with competition and broadcasting departments to enhance event production. He also works closely with NHRA partners and race teams to engage fans through memorable activations.
Jonat manages the Sportsman Racing department and oversees several programs, including Youth & Education, Contingency/Racer Hospitality, and NHRA Merchandise.

He added, “I look forward to continuing to help NHRA grow and look for new, creative and innovative ways to make our national events a truly memorable experience for everyone.”
Jonat holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York College at Cortland. He also serves on the board of the NHRA Wally Parks Museum and is a board member of ACCUS.
