WILSON MANIFOLDS INJECTOR BOSSES AND FUEL RAIL STANCHIONS INSTALLED

Wilson Manifolds is offering a new service: the installation of injector bosses and fuel rail stanchions on intake manifolds.  Aimed at the street-strip, drag wilsonracing, and off-road markets, this service is particularly convenient for hot rod enthusiasts, racers, and engine builders who are converting to fuel injection.

“To obtain efficient atomization,” says Keith Wilson, “the injectors must be positioned precisely in the intake tract. If not the fuel mist collides with an intake wall and vapors degrade into large droplets. In doing so they enter the chamber in less than perfect form and power is lost.”

Wilson, renown for improved airflow, air-fuel distribution, and horsepower gains via their ported and sheet metal manifold designs, spacers, fuel rails, elbows, and throttle bodies, says that they adapt existing manifolds or supply new manifolds with all necessary provisions for fuel injection. Porting work, nitrous provisions and burst panels can also be provided if necessary.  

The two most popular fuel injection throttle bodies currently in use are the 4-barrel style and the large single-bore style that functions with an elbow. Four barrel throttle bodies are popular on naturally aspirated street-strip and Baja engines; large single-bore units are commonly used on drag racing turbo and supercharged applications as well as large displacement or powerful naturally aspirated engines.

HOLLEY'S ALUMINUM ULTRA HP CARBURETORS

A total of 30 new features and upgrades have been engineered into the new Aluminum Ultra HP™.   Most notable are the all aluminum construction which makes them 38% lighter and totally redesigned fuel bowls that increase fuel capacity by 20%.  The fuel bowls incorporate ten new features including internal baffling to help control fuel slosh; a fuel trough to direct fuel to the jets; and a fuel shelf which minimizes aeration and promotes more consistent metering.

The metering blocks and base plates are made from 6061T6 Billet Aluminum for improved durability and true gasket sealing.  The metering blocks are fully adjustable and boast a total of six upgrades.  The base plate received ten new enhancements including a dedicated race-only throttle lever; stainless steel adjustable secondary throttle link for your choice of 1:1 or progressive actuation; knurled (hand adjustable) primary and secondary curb idle screws; as well as dual bolt pattern mounting holes.

The main body steps it up with an integrated idle bypass valve that allows proper throttle plate adjustment when using radical camshafts without drilling holes in the throttle plates. The air bleeds have been moved outward for a smoother transition of airflow into the venturii and contoured hex head squirter screws have been added for streamlined airflow as well.

They’re available in an all-new Hard Core Gray™ hard coat anodized finish with Black™ billet for superior corrosion protection.  They’re also available in natural tumble-polished aluminum with your choice of Black™ or Red™ metering blocks and base plate.  The Aluminum Ultra HP comes in 600, 650, 750, 850, and True 950 CFM.

RAM CLUTCHES INTRODUCES NEW RELEASE BEARING

ramproreleasebearings2n-web-300x202Ram has revealed two new Pro release bearings suitable for all 8in, 10in, or 11in diameter drag racing clutches.

For years when drag racing drivers engage the clutch at the finish line, often with engines spinning at 8,000 to 10,000rpm, the clutch fingers make contact with the stationary bearing which instantly flings bearing grease into the clutch. Ram’s technical director Pat Norcia, said, “Although OEM truck release bearings were adapted for racing use, they’ve never been fully satisfactory—mainly because they are packed with grease and have inadequate sealing for racing purposes.” In addition, truck-style release bearings often cause excessive wear on the clutch fingers.

Machined from T-6 aluminum bar stock and featuring a bearing with a tool steel contact face, these new Ram Pro devices are available in two configurations: one for use with a cross-shaft design (popular on supercharged and nitrous oxide engines); the other for a clutch fork. Both spindle-style bearings, which are double shielded allowing them to operate with light oil instead of grease, eliminate run out, prevent wear or scars on the ends of the clutch fingers or bearing surface, and ensure reliability—their greaseless internals allowing them to ramp up to full engine speed efficiently.

Ram’s new Professional release bearings, which are designed to combat point-of-contact pressures of 500-1500lb, weigh 1lb to 1.25lb, depending upon collar length, are priced from $99.00 and available for immediate delivery.

The Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap Oldsmobile 455 intake manifold (#7551) is intended for aggressive street/strip big-block applications. This high-flow manifold, when matched with the ideal camshaft and Edelbrock cylinder heads, produces broad torque and peak horsepower in the 1500 to 6500 rpm range.

The Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap Oldsmobile 455 manifold also features an Air-Gap design. This award-winning design incorporates the same race-winning technology that's been used on Edelbrock Victor Series competition intake manifolds for decades. The Air-Gap design features an open air space that separates the runners from the hot engine oil, resulting in a cooler, denser charge for more power.

CHASSISWORKS g-BAR CANTED-4-BAR REAR SUSPENSION FOR '67 - 72 GM A-BODIES

CAC_A-bodyRearSystems_PRKRChassisworks new g-Bar/g-Link system is a direct-replacement canted-4-bar rear suspension conversion for ’67-72 GM A-Bodies with OEM 10- or 12-bolt housings, or Chassisworks’ FAB9 Ford 9” conversion housing. The system can be configured for different levels of performance including street friendly urethane-bushed g-Bar arms, more handling oriented pivot-ball g-Link arms, or the rod end equipped 4130 ProPower arms suitable for professional levels of drag racing. VariShock single- or double-adjustable coil-overs or air-springs can be selected further increasing the range of performance applications for which the system can be configured. Two different styles of shock mounts are available. The direct bolt-on set locates off existing vehicle features and only requires a few additional drilled holes to secure the mounts. To accommodate extremely wide rear tires, a weld-on set is available which utilizes a tubular upper crossmember and replacement axle brackets. The weld-on lower brackets provide the added feature of multiple lower-arm mounting holes to adjust the rear suspension’s instant center geometry. The weld-on bracket option is only available with g-Link or ProPower arms. Both styles of lower axle brackets incorporate a multiple-position billet shock mount that allows ride-height adjustment without sacrificing valuable shock travel. Optional components include: adjustable-rate tubular rear anti-roll bar, aluminum rearend girdle, and control arm support brace.
