PEDREGON CONFIRMS NEW TUNING DUO FOR 2024

Cruz Pedregon announced a contract extension with longtime sponsor Snap-on Tools at the recently competed In-N-Out NHRA Finals. Almost two weeks later comes another significant announcement.

Pedregon, a two-time NHRA world champion and 38-time national event winner, confirmed the signing of tuner Jason Bunker as a replacement for John “JC” Collins. The announcement also indicated past championship tuner John Medlen will join Bunker in a consulting role. Most recently the two worked with Paul Lee Racing.

“I am eager, excited, and motivated for this opportunity, for both myself and the entire team we are putting together here at CPR.” Bunker said. “The competition in Funny Car is incredible right now but we feel we have a solid plan as a team to hit the ground racing in 2024.”

Pedregon believes Bunker and Medlen bring a perfect fit to the Snap-on Tools team.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to have Jason and John join our Snap-on Nitro Funny Car team,” said Pedregon, a two-time Funny Car world champion. “They both have the mindset and the skills that you desire out here and will definitely be a great piece to bring our team into championship form.”

Bunker, whose father Bob was a West Coast Pro Modified pioneer, has worked in the tuning sector since he was a teenager with experience in various arenas, including Justin Ashley's rookie Top Fuel season. He also has prior experience in Pro Modified and Nostalgia Funny Car.

“It’s like a football team,” Pedregon said. “You have to have the right people in the right places to be able to succeed. It’s going to be a busy offseason but, we will be ready to rip in 2024.”
