FORCE REALITY SHOW COMING BACK?

Today John Force Racing’s publicity department issued a media advisory that on 1/25, at the team’s headquarters in Yorba Linda, Ca, a press conference will be held announcing the expansion of the team and their future efforts. On the list of featured guests is Brent Travers, the producer of the Driving Force reality show which was suspended following Eric Medlen’s death. Could it be that part of Force’s expansion is in reviving the old A&E series?

JANIS TO RUN A PRO EXTREME DUSTER?

Word has it that Mike Janis, the former IHRA champion who has found a home on the NHRA GSA Pro Modified tour with a Ford Mustang, will have a Mopar alter ego in ADRL Pro Extreme. Don't be surprised if Janis finds his way to the starting line with a new Plymouth Duster similar to the one driven by Jason Hamstra and built by Andy McCoy Race Cars.

DSR TOTALLY OUT OF PSM NOW?

Mega team owner Don Schumacher parked his Suzuki team last season due to lack of sponsorship funding available. According to sources, Schumacher has apparently given up on the class. Word has it, Schumacher has sold the last of his operation, engine program and all, to an upstart team based in California. Look for an announcement coming soon.

JOHNNY GRAY ANNOUNCEMENT COMING

A reliable source has told CompetitionPlus.com that an announcement is forthcoming officially naming Johnny Gray as a driver for Don Schumacher Racing.

Gray, according to our source, will drive a Dodge Charger flopper sponsored by National Tire and Battery. DSR will field four Funny Cars this season with Gray filling the fourth slot.

TROXEL CHANGING FC BODIES FOR 2011?

The word churning out of the rumor mill suggests that Melanie Troxel will run a Toyota flopper in 2011.

FULLER HEADED TO VANDERGRIFF?


Multiple sources have told Attitude's CompetitionPlus.com the probable landing place for the Yas Marina team driven by Rod Fuller is Bob Vandergriff Motorsports.

Giving credence to the speculation is the longtime associate between Fuller and Vandergriff. Reportedly the Yas Marina team will run a 10-race schedule.

Vandergriff declined to discuss the rumor.

FULLER NO LONGER PART OF DSR?

Sources have told Attitude's CompetitionPlus.com that Rod Fuller and the Abu Dhabi-based Yas Marina Top Fuel team are no longer part of Don Schumacher Racing. Reportedly the team will wind up elsewhere, and as soon as we have spoken to the parties involved, we'll pass it on.

MOSER AXLE MANIA FINISHED AT IHRA?

Word has it the Moser Axle Mania program, one sportsman drag racing's richest programs, will not return to the IHRA in 2011. The program had run continuously since 2002. There's no word yet as to whether the program will continue elsewhere.

ANOTHER TURBO CONVERT OR IS IT A RETURN?

Word has it that a certain GSA Pro Modified racer, well known for his car's yellow and black livery, will return to a turbo car sometime this year according to a reliable source.

MEMPHIS MOTORSPORTS PARK PURCHASED?

There's a strong likelihood championship drag racing could be returning to the mid-south region of the United States. Word has it the same group which currently runs Palm Beach International Raceway [PBIR] in West Palm Beach, Fla., has purchased the Memphis Motorsports Park facility. An official announcement is expected to come in the next few days.
