Only two drivers belong to it, and that scarcity is exactly what makes the club extraordinary. John Force and Greg Anderson were formally inducted as the inaugural members of the NHRA 1,000 Round Win Club ahead of the 2025 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony at Pechanga Resort and Casino.

The ceremony recognized Force, a 16-time Funny Car world champion, and Anderson, a six-time Pro Stock world champion, for reaching 1,000 elimination round wins in NHRA professional competition. Both received custom embroidered tuxedo jackets and framed certificates marking one of the rarest accomplishments in motorsports.

“The 1000 Round Win Club recognizes the elite of the elite in NHRA drag racing,” Werner Communications founder Elon Werner said. “Turning on 1000 win lights is a testament to more than just longevity, it represents dominance, excellence and perseverance. I was present at the top end for each of these drivers to achieve this milestone. I will never forget the emotion and sense of accomplishment John and Greg exhibited.”

Certificates presented to Force and Anderson emphasized the significance of the achievement. They noted that membership “places you amongst the elite of elite in motorsports” and reflects “enduring excellence, perseverance and legendary career” milestones earned over decades.

Force became the first driver to reach the benchmark on May 4, 2008, during the O’Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. He retired this weekend prior to the In-N-Out NHRA Finals with 1,460 career round wins.

“I was just trying to make enough money to get to the next race when I won my first round in 1979 so it’s an honor all these years later to be recognized as the first 1000 Round Win Club jacket,” Force said. “I’m officially done driving so the numbers I have are what they are, but I’m excited about what John Force Racing has in store for next season and in the years to come.”

Anderson joined the milestone club on June 8, 2025, at the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tennessee. He ended the season with 1,022 round wins and credited his recent surge to teamwork and stability.

“To get to 1000 round wins with John Force is a huge accomplishment,” Anderson said. “I have to thank my team, Rob Downing and a whole bunch of great new teammates that I didn’t have two years ago. We’re a better team than we’ve ever been. And that’s what I’m the proudest of. I’ve been lucky to somehow surround myself with people that can make me look good and are the best in the business. This is a great honor that a lot of people contributed to.”

Werner Communications will retain and manage both jackets beyond the 2025 awards ceremony. The company will coordinate transportation, storage and cleaning, with the intent that drivers wear their jackets at the Don Garlits Drag Racing Hall of Fame and future NHRA award events.

Additional announcements regarding the 1,000 Round Win Club are expected. The next driver closest to eligibility is three-time Funny Car world champion Ron Capps, who ended the 2025 season with 939 round wins.
