One of NHRA’s longest-running partnerships will continue well beyond its 25th anniversary.
Lucas Oil Products has signed a multiyear extension with NHRA that keeps the company as title sponsor of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and the “Official Oil of NHRA,” extending a relationship that began in 2001.
For a quarter-century, the Lucas Oil name has been tied closely to NHRA sportsman racing. The agreement also continues Lucas Oil’s naming-rights sponsorship of Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, home of the NHRA U.S. Nationals.
“From the drag strip to the bottling line, NHRA has played a very important and meaningful role throughout my career,” said Morgan Lucas, CEO of Lucas Oil. “As a former professional drag racer, I have seen firsthand the care and craftsmanship NHRA puts into the sport of drag racing, and it is an honor to now support the organization through Lucas Oil’s industry-leading line of automotive additives and lubricants, built to withstand the elements and the tough conditions drivers face. We thank NHRA for its continued partnership with Lucas Oil, which has truly stood the test of time.”
The relationship has gone considerably deeper than signage and sponsorship inventory. Lucas Oil has worked with race teams throughout the partnership to develop motor oils, gear oils and fuel treatments designed for the extreme heat, load and friction common in drag racing.
Those lessons from the racetrack have also helped produce products that became part of the company’s consumer lineup.

The biggest footprint, however, remains with NHRA’s sportsman racers.
The 2026 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series schedule includes 47 divisional events across North America, including 14 double-divisional races. The regional schedule includes another 24 events, feeding a championship structure that stretches through the season-ending races in Las Vegas and Pomona.
“Lucas Oil has been an extraordinary partner with NHRA for the past 25 years, and we’re absolutely thrilled to extend this partnership,” said NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer Brad Gerber. “The Lucas family’s commitment to drag racing and our Sportsman racers has been incredible for so many years, forging an incredible legacy in NHRA drag racing. Their support has played a tremendous role in NHRA’s continuous growth and we look forward to enjoying continued success with Lucas Oil well into the future.”
Lucas Oil’s Indianapolis connection retains naming rights to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, where the 72nd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals were contested last weekend.
NHRA has also expanded the visibility of the Lucas Oil Series in recent seasons. For the second consecutive year, more than 30 events are scheduled to stream free through NHRA.tv or NHRA’s YouTube channel, providing coverage from all seven NHRA divisions along with selected special events.
Twenty-five years after Lucas Oil first put its name behind NHRA sportsman racing, the company isn’t backing away.
It is signing up for more.
