It’s about a friend honoring a friend, and in this instance, a series and its racers benefit from their friendship.

Thanks to former drag racer turned NASCAR legend Jack Roush, those competing at NMCA’s Muscle Car Mayhem event at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY., will receive significant purse increases and top qualifier cash over the weekend of May 30 – June 2.

The tribute to his dear friend and past NHRA race winner, Don Bowles Sr.. ensures payouts have been increased for classes Bowles competed in, including NA 10.5, Open Comp, Stock, and Super Stock. Each class winner will receive a promotional check commemorating their achievement, and all series racers will receive unique Don Bowles Sr. tribute decals.

Bowles was a former NHRA standout with success in class racing, primarily in the NHRA’s Modifiued division where he raced a Super Modified Fairmont.

Winners will also receive applicable NMCA sponsor contingency awards for all eligible claims.
