Mark Beaver, owner of Beaver Motorsports, confirmed to CompetitionPlus.com that his team will run a limited NHRA Pro Stock schedule in 2024.
“We’re planning on running eight to ten races and Larry (Morgan) is going to drive the car,” Beaver said. “We do our motors in-house; Larry Morgan Racing does the engines, and we will be running a Camaro again.”
Beaver said his team plans to start its season at the 2024 NHRA Mission Food Drag Racing Series opener – the 55th annual NHRA Gartornationals in Gainesville, Fla., March 7-10.
“We will do Gainesville, both Charlotte (races), (Richmond) Virginia, Bristol (Tenn.), Reading (Pa.), Norwalk (Ohio) and Indy,” Beaver said. “Larry and I are like brothers. With the manifold clarification stuff, that will help us, and we hope to be more competitive. We have good equipment and Larry does a good job on the engines. We are looking at from the point, with what we saw in Bradenton (Fla.) (Feb. 8-10), we feel like some of the stuff we found out over the winter we should be competitive.”
Beaver said his team will make some test laps in Gainesville, the week of the Gatornationals and before that he may have his team test in Darlington, S.C., and or Bradenton. Amanda Beaver is the team’s general manager and car chief.
“Pro Stock is what I have always wanted to do since I was a kid,” Beaver said. “Watching Ronnie Sox and Rickie Smith and those guys around the South and this is just something I always wanted to do. I got in a position where I could do it and Chip Lofton came on with me early.
“Pro Stock to me has always been the class that you wanted to run.”
Beaver said his team’s primary sponsors will be Beaver Motorsports golf carts, Beaver Bail Bonds, and LMR Rods.
