NHRA Funny Car racer Paul Lee has enjoyed his best season to date.
Lee returns to the site of his first step of significant momentum, the In-N-Out NHRA Finals and does so with a new look, thanks to Mainline Sales Inc. The company, a full-service manufacturer’s representative based in Southern California, will integrate Lee’s team into its operations, showcasing brands like Zurn Elkay Water Solutions.
Mainline Sales has been an associate sponsor for Lee’s racing team for several seasons. The collaboration reflects the business-to-business (B2B) strategies Lee and his marketing team implemented.
“We are excited and grateful to the entire Paul Lee Racing team for their friendship and support,” said Alicia Sylvester, Marketing Lead for Mainline Sales Inc. “With Pomona as Mainline’s home track, we are grateful to Paul Lee and our manufacturer partners for their support for our primary sponsorship.”
Lee emphasizes the importance of cultivating partnerships on and off the racetrack.
“Successful professional drag racing partnerships require solid B2B programs,” Lee explained. “For the last few years, Mainline Sales, their customers, and their marketing team have provided exactly that.”
Following a runner-up finish in Las Vegas, the Paul Lee Racing team, led by Jonnie Lindberg and John Medlen, aims to maintain their consistent 3.8-second runs. Lee achieved a career-best of 3.834 seconds in the semi-finals and looks to end the 2024 season on a solid note.
Up until this season, Lee had never reached a final round in the Mission Foods Funny Car competition, but he has now reached two in 2024. His transformation began by qualifying strongly. He qualified in the top half of the field in 11 of 15 races, seven of which were in the top five.
Lee is winning rounds, too. He’s got 12-round wins heading into this weekend. How far has he progressed? In the last two seasons, Lee had six round wins combined.
He also won the Pep Boys All-Star Callout win at Indy.
The Las Vegas performance bodes well for Lee, who started his run to prominence last year at the season-ending Pomona race with a career-best No. 5 qualifying effort at the time.
