The Route 66 Nationals return to Joliet, IL, from May 16-18, showcasing the Congruity HR NHRA Pro Mod series. As the fourth event in a ten-race season, the atmosphere is charged with energy and opportunity.
Al Anabi Performance/KH is making headlines this season, with Mike Stavrinos achieving back-to-back wins. Teammate JR Gray also claimed victory at the American Rebel Light 4-Wide nationals in Charlotte, marking three consecutive wins for the team.
However, the competition remains fierce, with several drivers eager to disrupt the current momentum. Multi-time champion Rickie Smith is gaining traction, showcasing the potential of nitrous cars, as his crew continues to make strategic choices.
Billy Banaka follows closely after a strong runner-up finish in Charlotte. With each race, Banaka’s confidence grows, and a victory in Joliet would mark a significant milestone in his career.

Additionally, the FTI Showdown returns, rewarding the driver with the best average ET during qualifying. Consistency will be key in this highly competitive environment.
As the excitement builds, questions linger: Can Al Anabi maintain its dominance? Will Rickie Smith’s nitrous-powered Mustang secure a win? Is Billy Banaka prepared to make history with his ’68 Chevrolet Camaro?
Attendees can expect a thrilling experience at Route 66, where the stakes are high and surprises await.
