Super Gas racer Ryan Herem lost control of his Corvette and crashed during the third round of eliminations Saturday evening during the NHRA Arizona Nationals outside of Phoenix.
Race officials confirmed Herem was alert and conscious following the accident. He was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Herem’s Corvette suffered extensive damage, and because of the amount of debris on the track, competition was suspended until Sunday morning.
