It’s official: Funny Car racer Blake Alexander is no longer a part of Jim Head Racing.

Alexander made the announcement over social media on Monday morning, ending speculation and rumors suggesting the two had parted ways.

“I can’t thank Jim Head, Dave Leahy, and my teammates for giving me the opportunity to chase my dreams, competitively racing the Head Racing Nitro Funny Car,” Alexander said. “The car and team that I used to watch as a little boy in the stands became my reality over the last five years. We fought hard, built the team up, and achieved two national event wins over the past five years. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to learn from the veteran racers and to have seen growth of our young crew members.”

Alexander scored one victory this season, finishing a career-high sixth in the final championship points while racing only 18 events. He is one of the few drivers to have won national event titles in both Top Fuel and Funny Car.

Speculation is circulating that Alexander could form an alliance with either Tim Wilkerson or Chad Green in 2025. However, there is no official confirmation at this time.

“Thank you to all my sponsors who have supported me throughout my 14 year professional career,” Alexander continued. “As I close this chapter in my career, I look back finally with my time at Head Racing and I am excited for the next announcements regarding my future.”
