The Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals, slated for this weekend at No Problem Raceway, has been rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions. The decision, announced today by the NHRA, comes amidst concerns regarding the current and forecasted weather conditions, prompting a shift to May 3-5 to ensure optimal racing conditions.
No Problem Raceway Owner Nelson Hoyos expressed regret over the weather-related setback but emphasized the commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for participants.
“The Cajun SPORTSnationals and No Problem Raceway are committed to giving our racers the best possible experience, both on and off the track,” Hoyos said. “Unfortunately, Mother Nature isn’t cooperating this weekend, but we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Bayou on May 3-5 for a one-of-kind event.”
The rescheduling provides racers an additional chance to engage in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, complementing the JEGS SPORTSnationals scheduled for July 10-11. With over $150,000 in prizes across eight categories and more than $50,000 in contingency offerings, the event promises a lucrative and competitive platform for racers from all seven NHRA divisions.
The event moves to the second race in the 2024 Rooftec Competition Eliminator Bonus fund. The ten-race series, which pays $200,000 to the champion, will now open April 19-21 at Thunder Valley Motorsports Park in Noble, Oklahoma.
NHRA Senior Manager of Sportsman Racing, Sara Walker, underscored the significance of the rescheduling.
“We want to make this is a memorable weekend for our race teams and a successful event for the track and we look forward to having a great Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals in May,” Walker said.
