CompetitionPlusTV will livestream the Don Garlits International Drag Racing Hall of Fame ceremonies on its YouTube channel and CompetitionPlus.com. The partnership with Masters Entertainment enters its fifth year of the drag racing mainstays working together to cover the illustrious event.
Dave Dobson, vice president, producer, and director of Masters Entertainment, said his team looks forward to working with the CompetitionPlus.com team to present one of the most significant events drag racing offers.
“We love working with CompetitionPlus; they are great partners,” said Dave Dobson, Masters Entertainment. “We share a common interest in that we love drag racing. We also love the sport’s history, which drives us to bring the best presentation of those who helped make it what it is today. Partnering with Competition Plus ensures we share this with some of drag racing’s most passionate fans.”
CompetitionPlus TV, the video arm of drag racing’s longest-running internet magazine CompetitionPlus.com, launched full-time in 2012, after part-time efforts in 1999 and 2004.
CompetitionPlus.com, which turns 25 years old in September, has ties through its founder, Bobby Bennett, to Masters Entertainment dating back to the old IHRA days when its founder, Ted Jones, was a top executive in the then Bristol, Tenn.-based series.
“Getting to work with Ted, Dave, and the team at Masters Entertainment is what I call a dream come true,” said Bennett. “To understand the place in drag racing Ted holds, and then to partner with Masters Entertainment to bring such an incredible event is what you strive to be a part of. The Don Garlits International Drag Racing Hall of Fame is an event that never disappoints in its pageantry or entertainment value.”
The International Drag Racing Hall of Fame Ceremony commences on March 7, 2024, and will begin at 8 PM. Additionally, the event will be broadcast on FloRacing.com, and if you miss the live stream, you will be able to watch a thirty-minute TV version on April 28, 2024, on CBS Sports Network.
