Densham Motorsports, Inc. has formed a sponsorship partnership with Gary Marcus Trucking, Ltd. for the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals, scheduled for November 1-3, 2024. The collaboration highlights both companies’ commitment to their communities and the sport.
Gary Marcus founded his trucking company in 1989 with one truck, now expanding to a fleet of 12 Western Star trucks and employing 15 people. Based in the Comox Valley in British Columbia, Canada, Marcus has actively supported local construction companies and the community, including his backing of Saratoga Motor Sports Park.
The Densham Motorsports’ Teachers’ Pet Funny Car features its second-generation driver, Steven Densham. While Gary Densham, who began driving funny cars in 1971, still participates occasionally, it is Steven, a high school teacher, who mostly drives the car.
Marcus was attracted to Densham Motorsports due to its family atmosphere and shared values. “We have been involved in many types of motorsports… A whole family of teachers giving back to their community is something to be proud of,” he said.
He also noted that the passion for racing shared by both families was a significant factor in the partnership. “I hope I can race for as long as Densham has. That man loves racing like I do,” Marcus said, adding that having his father’s name on the car is a fitting tribute.
Densham echoed Marcus’s sentiments about the partnership, highlighting their shared growth from modest beginnings. “Both our companies have grown from small beginnings… we never give up,” Densham said, affirming their commitment to the sport and to securing a win for Gary Marcus Trucking in Las Vegas.
