Sponsorships are drag racing’s life’s blood. National IT Consulting company IGTG (Innovative Global Technology Group) plans to make its presence known in the straight-line sport through programs they plan to activate with four top drag racing teams.
IGTG is no stranger to NHRA drag racing. This season’s endeavor marks its fifth year in the straight-line sport and return in 2024 with Paul Lee Racing (Funny Car), Krista Baldwin Racing (Top Fuel), Matt Smith Racing (Pro Stock Motorcycle) and has started a new partnership with Angelle Sampey (A/Fuel Dragster).
“Sponsorship with NHRA teams has become our main company marketing focus,” IGTG owner Scott Kunau said. “We are excited to be full-time marketing partners with these teams in 2024. This year marks the beginning of our 30th year in business, and what better way to celebrate this milestone than to partner with our teams on the NHRA tour.”
IGTG is a full-service information technology consulting company working with companies of all sizes in nearly all vertical markets across America. The firm’s go-to message for all race teams and their sponsors is to help them to understand how potentially devastating a cyber-attack could be on a race team’s business or one of their sponsor’s businesses. “Statistics show more than 80% of all businesses aren’t prepared to fend-off a cyber-attack and if one occurs, more than 60% of those businesses likely won’t recover from the overwhelming costs,” Kunau explained.
“Our goal is to work with race teams and potentially many sponsor businesses on the NHRA tour to bring awareness of the need for world-class vendor-supported cyber security applications and management. Further, our recently developed ‘Operational Managed Services’ model helps businesses seeking assistance with their existing IT system management without the traditional rip and replace that typically comes with hiring a managed services company. Planning, forecasting, and expected service level agreements (SLA) come with a partnership with IGTG.”
Of the five seasons IGTG has been involved in NHRA, four have been spent with Paul Lee Racing and Krista Baldwin Racing.
“We’re very excited to continue our marketing partnership with Paul and Krista in 2024. We’ve tried to do more and attend more races with both teams each year,” Kunau said.
“We are excited to have IGTG on board for the entire 2024 race season as Scott has been instrumental in bringing his IT knowledge into our Paul Lee Racing family,” “owner/Driver Paul Lee said. “This year, we unveiled the IGTG Cloud Tablet technology exclusively to our race team. It allows our crew chiefs to monitor the race car and crew instantly to save time and money.”
“IGTG and Scott have supported us at many events, including being our Primary Sponsor in Norwalk,” Baldwin said. “We know Scott is committed to building our team, and I’m very excited to continue our strong partnership with IGTG in 2024.”
IGTG has three seasons now with Matt Smith Racing, a program that began at the 2022 NHRA U.S. Nationals.
“Matt won the race, and then Angie won the World Finals in Pomona,” Kunau said. “Matt won Indy again in 2023, and since Indy is one of the races we’ve been going to since 1986, we were excited and honored to join him in the U.S. Nationals Winners Circle for the second straight year.”
New to the program is Sampey, who is in her first full season in Top Alcohol Dragster.
“I’m confident we will be joining Angelle in the Winner’s Circle in 2024,” Kunau added. “She is a proven winner with three Pro Stock Motorcycle World titles, and I can’t wait to see her win a Wally in Top Alcohol Dragster.”
In addition to NHRA teams, IGTG is also involved in professional golf (PGA) and professional rodeo, as well as with teams (TFH and TAH) in the Southern Drag Boat Association (SDBA).
