Jason Rupert, a second-generation Southern California Funny Car driver, will start his 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series schedule at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip during the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals. Rupert will be showcasing Shell Roofing Solutions Group on his Ford Mustang Nitro Funny Car.
Entering his fifth season in the Professional category, Rupert aims to build on the momentum from 2024. He achieved his first career round-win at last spring’s four-wide event in Las Vegas and set a career-best elapsed time four times in his final three events, including a 3.91-second run in Pomona last November.
“We were really encouraged by the progress at the end of last year,” Rupert said. “The main focus over the winter has been getting parts ready and getting organized so Rahn can keep picking away at the performance.”
Rupert’s team, led by experienced tuner Rahn Tobler, will continue refining the car’s performance. “It is a nice change of pace to have a ‘normal’ offseason,” he added.

Rupert’s ongoing relationships off the track are also significant. Shell Roofing Solutions Group will serve as his primary sponsor at the Winternationals and will maintain a presence at other events throughout the season.
“It’s a great pleasure to have our company represented on Jason Rupert’s Funny Car,” said Rudy Gutierrez, president and CEO of Shell Roofing Solutions Inc. “We are looking forward to a great season.”
Shell Roofing Solutions Group joins a diverse lineup of supporters for Rupert Motorsports, which includes Lucas Oil, J.S. Easterday Construction, CP-Carrillo, and others.
Rupert’s continued partnership with Lucas Oil marks a notable milestone, as 2025 is the 30th season of collaboration. Lucas Oil became Rupert’s primary sponsor in 1996, during his first season in Top Alcohol Funny Car, and the relationship has endured through multiple championships.
“I am grateful that Forrest and Charlotte Lucas took a chance on me so many years ago,” Rupert said. “It’s amazing to see how much Lucas Oil has grown over the decades.”
