Day three of Sick Week 2025 presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive showcased world records and intense competition at Orlando Speed World. Brett LaSala set a new record with a time of 6.206 seconds, maintaining his overall lead with a 6.301 average.
“That wasn’t enough,” LaSala said. “That should have been a 6.15. The track was really good, and I underestimated it so it was wanting to wheelstand. We also developed a transmission leak; everything is okay but it was messy.”
Josh Davis held on to second place with a 6.596 and a 6.677 average. Graham Hayes faced a slew of challenges but managed to break into the top three with a time of 6.661 and a 6.750 average, following a transmission replacement after experiencing driveline damage the previous day.
“Cameron Johnson race cars brought us new four-link bars and a new wishbone that we got in,” Hayes said. “We are here to fight. It’s going to be tight.”
Meanwhile, Bryant Goldstone overcame rear end issues with his Javelin to clock a 6.517 pass, moving into fourth place with a 6.779 average. Ed Ensor continued to impress in the Naturally Aspirated class, setting a world record with a 7.078 in his Ford Mustang.
“All in all, I couldn’t be happier,” Ensor said. “I’ve got all the right people behind me.”
With just two days remaining in Sick Week, class leaders are emerging. Nick Rinehart leads Heavy Metal with a 6.938 average, while Glenn Hunter’s ’56 Chevy tops Pro Street with a 6.997 average.
Darin Hendricks is in the lead for Stick Shift with an 8.846 average. The Sick Week Freaks battle is heating up between Cooper Bogetti’s 2JZ-powered Camaro and Rick Fletes’ diesel Chevelle, averaging 8.606 and 8.658 respectively.
Racers enjoyed a scenic cruise along the Atlantic coast, with stops at Aunt Catfish’s on the River and Hoot Owl Farmhouse Ice Cream. The penultimate day of Sick Week 2025 occurs today at Gainesville Raceway. Full results are available online.
