The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series is set to kick off its 2024 season at Orlando Speed Dragway from Feb. 15-17. This event marks the beginning of the series and its race teams, with several initiatives in place to enhance the racing experience. One significant change is the comprehensive free coverage plan, which will allow fans to stream the races for free on NHRA.tv and the NHRA YouTube page. Throughout the 2024 season, a total of 37 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events will be available for free streaming on these platforms.

Fans can check out the first NHRA racing action of the year, which will be accessible to them at no cost. The season-long free coverage will encompass all seven NHRA divisions, ensuring that fans can enjoy the thrilling races from the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series throughout the year.

To access the select divisional races for free, fans simply need to sign up for a complimentary account on NHRA.tv.

Among the other initiatives in place for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competitors is the introduction of the Perfect Reaction Time Challenge Coin. At all national events, any driver who achieves a perfect reaction time during eliminations in LODRS action will receive a special challenge coin. Furthermore, the Right Trailers Right on the Number bonus will be awarded to drivers who hit their dial-in/index during eliminations at national events.

The Laris Motorsports Insurance Perfect Run Program offers an additional bonus to drivers who achieve a perfect reaction time and dial-in/index during eliminations at any divisional event. This program aims to recognize and reward exceptional performance on the drag racing track.

The Sportsman Appreciation Dinner at the U.S. Nationals is set to return for the second time. This special dinner, held at the Top Eliminator Club at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park last year, provides an opportunity for all sportsman racers to dine together. The dinner is accompanied by giveaways and prizes from NHRA partners, enhancing the overall experience for the participants.

The addition of a second SPORTSnationals race is another highlight for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. In addition to the JEGS SPORTSnationals at National Trail Raceway from July 10-13, the Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals have been included in the schedule. This race will take place from March 15-17 at No Problem Raceway, providing teams with two prestigious SPORTSnational events to compete in.

Following a successful debut in 2023, the JEGS Allstars will return to Texas Motorplex as part of the Stampede of Speed and Texas NHRA FallNationals. This event promises to deliver the same level of excitement as last year, with thrilling racing and newly-added Texas Motorplex traditions. The JEGS Allstars event has received positive feedback from both racers and fans, solidifying its status as a must-watch race.

Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car will continue to receive significant attention at marquee regional events. Locations such as Indianapolis, Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, and Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix will host these special regional events. Last year, the regional event in Indy was featured as part of the popular Cleetus and Cars event and will continue to do so in 2024.

In an effort to expand its reach, NHRA has introduced the Summit ET Series in Eastern Canada. This series will culminate in the Eastern Canadian E.T. Finals, where champions will be crowned at Napierville Dragway in Quebec from Sept. 6-8. This highlights NHRA’s commitment to promoting and growing grassroots racing, from NHRA Member Track programs all the way up to the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.

NHRA has also made significant additions to its staff, ensuring the organization has the expertise and support needed for continued growth in drag racing. Alyse Aguilar has been hired as a full-time employee to focus on sportsman racing. Alongside Division Directors, Mike Rice, Bob Lang, and Rob Parks serve in advisory roles, bringing a wealth of experience to all levels of NHRA drag racing.

Streaming coverage of the 37 divisional races is made possible through the support of sponsors such as Strange Engineering, Summit Racing Equipment, JEGS, Edelbrock, Laris Motorsports Insurance, Right Trailers, Ross Pistons, Rooftec, CP Pistons, Total Seal, and Moser Engineering. These sponsors provide fans with a free opportunity to witness the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and its racers in action. Presenting sponsors for NHRA.TV Sportsman coverage from Orlando includes Moser, Strange, Edelbrock, and A.R.T.

Starting with the Southeast Division 2 kickoff event at Orlando, race fans will have the opportunity to watch racing at several divisional races each month on NHRA.tv or the NHRA YouTube page. This includes five events in May, six races in June, and seven in July. The season will culminate with the Division 7 race at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Nov. 7-10. Additionally, complimentary coverage will be provided for major events such as the JEGS SPORTSnationals, the Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals, the NHRA Right Trailers Western Conference Finals at Texas Motorplex in Dallas, and the NHRA Right Trailers Eastern Conference Finals at Bristol Dragway. Furthermore, several doubleheader races will also be included in the coverage.
