Celebrating its 20th year in 2023, the Wally Parks NHRA Nostalgia Nationals presented by Holley returns to historic Beech Bend Raceway on June 15-17 for an unforgettable weekend filled with nostalgia racing, incredible hot rods and much more.
Previously known as the National Hot Rod Reunion, the event relaunched as the Wally Parks NHRA Nostalgia Nationals in 2023, featuring the same exciting action and festivities that have filled the grounds at Beech Bend Raceway for years. The celebration for this year’s event in Bowling Green will kick off with a special press conference on Wednesday, May 24 at 10 a.m. CT at the historic facility, helping to build excitement for the annual event on Father’s Day weekend (June 15-17).
This year’s Wally Parks NHRA Nostalgia Nationals presented by Holley promises to be one of the biggest weekends in the event’s history, with “Big Daddy” Don Garlits serving as the Grand Marshal of the race. Garlits is one of drag racing’s biggest icons and will be one of several legends appearing at Beech Bend Raceway over the weekend.
Garlits will help kick off an event that includes three can’t-miss days of nostalgia racing, spectacular hot rods and show cars and a fan-favorite swap meet at a facility regarded as hallowed grounds for racers steeped in drag racing history.
The event, which is part of the NHRA Hot Rod Racing Series, will also include an incredible show and shine car show, and popular cacklefests throughout the weekend, plus much more. On the track, fans were be thrilled by some of the best nostalgia racing in the country, with nostalgia Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars offering a memorable dose of nitro-burning action at more than 200 mph.
Drivers will be competing for event wins at the historic race as they compete for a championship in the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series, with eliminations on Sunday culminating a weekend that any fan of nostalgia drag racing won’t want to miss.
