Summit Racing Equipment has reaffirmed its commitment to the World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) and its sportsman racing programs for the upcoming year. The WDRA announced the renewal of its partnership with Summit Racing, with the Summit Sportsman Drag Racing Series (SSDRS) set to be the focal point of the organization’s bracket racing initiatives at WDRA member tracks throughout 2024. The highly anticipated 2024 WDRA Summit World Championships will be hosted by Montgomery International Dragway in the upcoming season.
Skooter Peaco, spokesperson for the WDRA, expressed enthusiasm about the continued support from Summit Racing Equipment, which has a long-standing tradition of backing its drag racing customers.
“We are very excited that we have Summit’s continued support to continue our work bolstering our member track network and all the bracket racers that call those tracks home,” Peaco said.
The second year of the Summit Sportsman Drag Racing Series will commence on January 1, 2024. The aim of this program is to identify and showcase the most talented racers from each WDRA member track, bringing them together for head-to-head competition at the highly anticipated Summit World Finals in October.
Jim Greenleaf, Motorsports and Events Manager at Summit Racing Equipment, emphasized the importance of sportsman racers and the entities that support them within the Summit Racing family.
“The opportunity to work with the WDRA, the facility owners and operator, and every racer in the program is a point of pride for us,” Greenleaf said.
The inaugural season of the Summit Sportsman Drag Racing Series drew registrations from over 3,000 racers. A select few will convene in Darlington, South Carolina, this October for the chance to compete for the first-ever WDRA Summit World Championship.
